For pure synthesis, this is great, if you're looking for sampling and editing samples maybe look elsewhere (although that could be a function I just don't know of yet). Once you've learned the basics you could definitely create some incredibly complex stuff that easily could rival a lot of non mobile DAWs. Really great interface, even if you don't use trackers (I use ableton and find this easier to use than a lot of iOS apps that are more like ableton's arrangement view) and really versatile array of parameters and options. Great tracker DAW with a wide range of features that takes a bit to learn, (or a lot, I still don't know how to do a lot of things in this app) but it's still great even if you're just starting out it's easy to make loops. Great DAW for iOS, maybe the best I've found for the cost. If you're even the least bit interested in modular synths and/or trackers, this is easily one of the best in the AppStore. The range of ideas it has the potential to set loose in your head is astounding. Long story short? I can't stop gushing about this app, and I can't stop messing around with it. I'm not sure, but it's definitely something that's easy to bring into your current line-up of music creation tools, especially if you play around with iOS apps, as this lets you copy and bring over sounds from other apps (how friggin cool is that?!?). but by the first night, I had 3 project files full of sounds and patterns and now I've even started what I hope becomes a full track once I copy it over to the PC (which, with SunVox is a snap and great, since the PC/MAC version of it is FREE FROM THE DEV'S WEBSITE!!), and keep messing with it, maybe integrate it all over into Reason, or do what I want to do within Reason and FL and move it into SunVox. It's the first tracker I've used, and after 17 years of messing with Reason and Fruity Loops, it was a bit difficult to grab onto. I've put in around 35-40 hours just messing around with this program, and I am completely in love with it. If you are a musician and own an iphone, you owe it to yourself to try this amazing application! In the overcrowded world of music apps, Sunvox stands out as both unique and powerful. Plus you can do the pinch/zoom gesture to zoom in and out. What is sunvox app? SunVox is one of the most powerful music creation tools for iOS. This setup makes sense when you don't want to obscure what you are tapping on. The tracker pattern area takes a little getting used to since you don't move the cursor by direct tapping, but instead by dragging. Figuring out how stuff works is fairly easy and for the most part everything works as expected. The bottom right features a module view where you can create and link up modules and the left area shows the settings for the selected module. The top area features a Tracker style pattern editor. This is very important because SunVox packs a lot of features onto one screen. The interface is split into 3 areas which can be resized more or less at will by tapping on the resizer bar. I spent a little time with the iPhone version and am pretty pleased with what I've seen so far. It's especially targeted to mobile platforms - in addition to working on Windows, Mac and Linux, it also works on PalmOS, Windows Mobile, and now the iPhone. SunVox is a modular sequencing application that has been ported to almost every platform under the sun (sorry, terrible pun).
